AQUAEL MULTIKANI 1000: Modular Filtration That Grows With Your Aquarium

Filtration is one of the most important pieces of equipment in any aquarium, but finding the right balance between performance, media capacity and long-term flexibility isn't always straightforward.

That’s where the new AQUAEL MULTIKANI 1000 takes a different approach.

The latest addition to the AQUAEL filtration range has been designed around one simple idea: your filtration should be able to grow with your aquarium.

One Filter. Multiple Configurations.

The MULTIKANI 1000 is a modular external filter designed for freshwater aquariums from 25 to 400 litres.

At the heart of the system is a 1.3-litre filter chamber, providing space for mechanical, biological or chemical filtration media. But unlike a conventional canister filter where the media capacity is fixed, the MULTIKANI 1000 can be expanded as filtration requirements increase.

MULTIKANI BREAKDOWN

The main unit can accept up to three additional filter modules, creating a total of four chambers and increasing the overall media capacity to as much as 5.2 litres.

For the retailer, that's a particularly useful proposition: rather than having to move a customer onto an entirely different filter as their aquarium develops, the MULTIKANI 1000 can be configured to suit their changing requirements.

Built For Flexibility

Every aquarium is different.

A lightly stocked community aquarium has different filtration requirements to a heavily stocked setup. A planted aquarium may have different priorities again, while aquarists experimenting with specialist media may want additional capacity for biological or chemical filtration.

The MULTIKANI 1000 allows that configuration to be tailored.

Additional chambers can be used with a range of AQUAEL media, including BioCeraMAX, ZeoMAX Plus and CarboMAX, as well as sponge and other filtration materials.

That makes the system particularly interesting for aquascaping and planted aquarium setups, where maintaining clean, stable water while maximising biological filtration is an important part of creating a successful environment.

Performance Without Excessive Power Consumption

Despite its compact and modular design, the MULTIKANI 1000 delivers a maximum pump performance of 1,000 litres per hour, while consuming just 9.1W.

AQUAEL rates the filter for freshwater aquariums between 25 and 400 litres, giving retailers a broad range of potential applications from smaller planted tanks through to larger community and heavily stocked aquariums.

The filter also features adjustable flow and adjustable water outlet direction, allowing users to fine-tune water movement to suit their aquarium.

Easier Maintenance With Aqua Stop

External filters are only as good as their maintenance routine, and AQUAEL has incorporated its Aqua Stop system into the MULTIKANI 1000.

The system allows the motor cover to be removed without the same concern of water spilling from the filter, helping make routine servicing and media maintenance more straightforward.

For customers, that's an important practical benefit — particularly for those who want the performance of external filtration without making maintenance unnecessarily complicated.

The Expansion Module

MULTIKANI WITH EXPANSION MODULE

One of the most interesting parts of the new system is the MULTIKANI 1000 expansion module.

The additional chamber sits above the main filter unit and increases the amount of media the system can accommodate. Up to three additional chambers can be added, taking the total filtration volume from 1.3 litres to as much as 5.2 litres.

This gives aquarists the ability to increase filtration capacity when they need it, whether that's because the aquarium has become more heavily stocked, the aquascape has developed, or they simply want to introduce additional biological or chemical media.

Importantly, the expansion modules are sold separately, allowing customers to build the system around their own requirements rather than paying for capacity they don't currently need.

A Different Approach To External Filtration

The MULTIKANI 1000 isn't simply about adding another external filter to an already crowded market.

Its real selling point is adaptability.

A customer can start with the standard configuration and, as their aquarium develops, increase the filtration capacity without replacing the entire filter.

For aquatic retailers, that creates a straightforward product story:

Start with the filtration you need today. Expand it when you need more tomorrow.

It's a practical approach that suits the way many aquariums develop over time... particularly planted, aquascaped and community setups where stocking, plant growth and filtration requirements can evolve considerably.
